In the world of supercars use of electric motors is not a
novelty, have long been known fantastic characteristics during
acceleration. This is the first gasoline-electric
hybrid Lamborghini.

Lamborghini Asterion Exterior

According to the manufacturer, this car displays Lamborghini’s
new design. This vehicle will definitely stand apart from other
current models, while still sticking to the overall Lamborghini
style.

The single-component nose of the Lamborghini Asterion is pretty
much reminiscent of the legendary Lamborghini Miura.

If seen up front, double-layered air intakes (Lamborghini’s
first) can be noticed, as well as the brand new headlights
which resemble eyes with eyebrows.

The Asterion uses 20” and 21” wheels and Pirelli tires.

Interior of Lamborghini Asterion

The Asterion is a pure 2-seater, covered in a somewhat lighter
tan and brown carbon-fiber trim.

The carbon-fiber monocoque chassis is inspired by the
Aventador’s. The doors open outward instead of upward, easing
the entry and egress. In the middle of the car, there is an
engine cover, composed of three hexagonal glass pieces turning
in accordance with the drive modes of the car – EV, hybrid or
gas-only.

The cabin is significantly roomier than the one in Aventador,
due to the roof, windshield and seats sitting much higher than
ever before in a Lamborghini. This is for more comfortable
cruising.

Seats are covered in ivory and brown leather. The steering
wheel is also based on that of the Miura, but the Asterion’s
wheel has 3 additional buttons controlling all three drive
modes. At the center of the dashboard, there is a portable
tablet, which controls climate settings, navigation, and
infotainment.

Engine and performance

The Asterion is a plug-in hybrid and it has three propulsion
units: a 610-hp 5.2-liter V10 and three electric motors.
Altogether, the hyper cruiser delivers 910 hp. The V10 is mated
to a 7-speed dual-clutch transaxle. Sitting between the engine
and gearbox is an integrated starter motor-generator (ISG).

The Asterion is an all-wheel drive hyper cruiser. Two electric
motors with torque vectoring are placed in the front axle,
powered by a lithium battery located in the center tunnel.

The vehicle is estimated to achieve 56 US mpg and as little as
98 g/km of CO2, which exceeds the European 2021
requirements. It should be able to go 31 miles on a single
charge.

The name Asterion LPI 910-4 speaks for itself. Asterion is the
name of a mythical minotaur (a man-bull); LP stands for
longitudinal posterior, whereas I is for ibrido
(meaning “hybrid”); 910 tells how much horsepower it packs; 4
tells it’s all-wheel drive.

It should be able to develop acceleration 0-60 mph in 3 seconds
and a top speed of 198 mph.
