The 2017 Chevrolet Impala looks bold and stylish. Its halogen
headlights particulary make it attractive at night. The base
model rides on 18-inch wheels although buyers can upgrade to
20-inch wheels at an extra cost.

The base LS trim features as standard power adjustable side
mirrors,  body-colored door handles , DRLs which are
integrated into the headlight housings and 18-inch steel wheels
which are wrapped in all-season blackwall tires. Moving over to
the LT trim, you get 18-inch painted alloy wheels, heated and
power adjustable side mirrors and an optional sunroof.

The top-of-the-range Premier trim features  19-inch
machined face-aluminum rollers which are also wrapped in
blackwall tires. It also features  chrome door handles
featuring body-color strips, HID headlights and  LED DRLs.

The 2017 Chevrolet Impala is available in an array of exterior
colors which include Blue Velevet Metallic, Silver Ice Mettalic
and Summit White.

Many enthusiasts love the Chevrolet Impala due to its spacious
and serenity of its cabin. The Impala accommodates five
passengers comfortably with ample head and legroom. Each
passenger enjoys plenty of space. The sedan also offers plenty
of cargo space at 18.8 cubic feet which can be expanded by
manipulating its 60/40-split folding rear seats.

Standard features on the base LS trim include bucket seats for
the driver and front passenger, a premium cloth trim, a
tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, an electronic air
conditioning system, a color display information center,
12-volt power outlets, OnStar with 4G LTE and a built-in WiFi
hotspot, electronic cruise control, keyless entry, a 4.2 –inch
infotainment system and a 6-speaker audio system with SiriusXM
satellite radio and an USB port.


The LS trim adds leatherette trim on the seats, an 8-inch
diagonal touch-screen a 4-spoke steering wheel wrapped in
leather, a dual-zone automatic climate control system, a touch
pad for opening the trunk, storage spaces beneath the 8-inch
touch-screen, Chevrolet MyLink radio and power driver and front
passenger seats. The LS and LT are offered with an optional
leather package which adds leather upholstery and heated seats.

The top-of-the-range Premier trim on the other hand features
perforated leather upholstery. The front seats are heated.
Other features include an ambient lighting, a rear vision
camera, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning,
forward collision alert, blind-spot monitoring, rear park
assist, and adaptive cruise control which features automatic
braking among others.

Standard safety features include traction and stability control
and a package of 10 airbags, antilock brakes. There is also an
optional Driver Confidence package. The package features rear
cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, lane departure
warning and adaptive cruise control with automatic emergency
braking among others.


Engine specs and performance

The 2017 Chevrolet Impala is offered in a number of
drive-trains. The base engine is a 2.5 L, 4-cylinder power
plant which is capable of producing 196 hp and 186 lb-ft of
torque.  This engine is EPA rated at 22 mpg city, 31 mpg
on highway and 25 mpg on combined drives. The engine which will
be offered on the LS and LT will is mated to a 6-speed
automatic transmission system that channels power to the front
wheels. The engine also features a stop-start system which
helps save fuel by shutting off the engine whenever the vehicle
comes to a halt.

The LS and LT trims have an option for a 3.6 L, V-6 which
produces 305 hp and 264 lb-ft of torque. This engine is however
offered as standard on the Premier trim. The engine is EPA
rated at 18 mpg city, 28 mpg on highway and 22 mpg on combined
drives. This engine powers the model to accelerate to 60 mph
from standstill in 6.4 seconds.


There is another engine on offer. The engine is a dual-fuel V-6
which runs on either gasoline or compressed natural gas (CNG).
The CNG tank is mounted in the trunk and it holds 7.7 GGE
(gasoline gallon equivalent) which can power the Impala over
150 miles. This engine runs on CNG by default and switches to
petrol once the CNG is depleted.

However, a driver can switch between the fuel sources via a
switch which is mounted on the dash. When running on gasoline,
the engine produces 260 hp and 247 lb-ft of torque which drops
to 230 horses and 218 lb-ft of torque when using CNG. On
petrol, the engine is EPA rated at 17 mpg city, 25 mpg on
highway and 20 mpg on combined drives while on CNG it is EPA
rated at 17 mpg, 25 mpg and 19 mpg on city, highway and
combined drives respectively.


Price and release date

The Chevrolet Impala 2017 will be offered to dealerships any
